Abraham Lustgarten of Propublica informs that drilling industry spokesman Lee Fuller asserts fracking alone does not contaminate groundwater! Why? Because cracks already exist underground and fracking just causes chemicals to seep in; fracking doesn't cause the cracks.
OK. What is the whole purpose of fracking? To crack open the ground so gas can be extracted.
Can't you just hear the protests? I caused this crack with my frack, but not that one!
