9-11 and the Campaign For Texas Governor?

I have been intensely interested in Texas's environmental situation for only the past two years. Questions about Mountain Creek Lake drew me to online research, but I was most helped by people working for EPA, universities, and citizens' groups who taught me about current issues in a way I could really picture in my mind and understand.
Education-from one person to another-there's no substitute for it.
One lesson led to another and now after two years and much frustration over military bases, CO2 emmissions, and natural gas drilling; I want a new governor of Texas and a new TCEQ to go along with the renewed and improved EPA from which I expect great things.
Which is how I began to follow Debra Medina's campaign...
Now I see she is "derailed" due to comments about 9-11. She may still actually be back on track with appropriate explanation, but the media seized on her remarks and, I think, made more out of them than what was there. Yet she said what she said...
Funny how people react differently to the same ideas. My husband thinks anyone who would entertain the idea that the US govt had any part in 9-11 is INSANE.
I pretty much agree-but, I would qualify my answer a bit. Having lived through the Kennedy assassination and read much reliable and even factual information for years that doesn't fit into the Warren Commission's scenario, am I apt to believe ANYTHING the government says? Having seen the extreme and shocking destruction of the environment on military bases that the govt refuses to clean up, do I hang on every word from Washington? NO. If 800 engineers say the World Trade Center buildings could not have been brought down by planes hitting the top floors, would I at least think about this? And look for an explanation of their opinion? YES.
Which leads me to Ms Medina. I think she's likewise a thoughtful person who weighs evidence and is open to the facts and truth.
I don't think she believes-and neither do I-in US involvement in a terrorist horror. But, she isn't naive either, and is open to facts.
Apparently being open to facts and truth doesn't make a good story, but being a supposed lunatic conspiracy - theorist does.
I - for one - am continuing to look at Debra Medina as someone who MIGHT be good for Texas. As I've written before, I want to elect a moral person who cares about the needs of individuals of every class and will protect the water and air for present and future generations.
Other objectives for Texas matter greatly, as well; but without basic "Golden Rule" morality and fairness, they'll soon be distorted and ineffectual. I think this is what has happened with well-intentioned Gov Perry - derailment by special interests. Could that be a conspiracy we should investigate?
