Being a little bored around the house tonight (while my husband watched football), I GOOGLED Dallas Morning News+US Navy. Since I'm upset with the Navy for leaving us contaminated Mt. Creek Lake, and committing other toxic sins, I decided to see what they have been up to. My goodness! The Navy was recently at Lockheed Martin unveiling some amazing new planes. I'll try to remember the adjectives used to describe the planes: lethal (to enemies) and survivable (for the pilot and crew) come to mind.
Other descriptive words were along the lines of sleek, ultra-powerful, beautiful-and these planes really had artistic paint jobs! One was metallic-looking in pale pink, silver blue, light green and gray-really cool. Oh, but the sophistication thing goes far beyond appearance: weapons and surveillance systems are "the bomb." That is...impressive and best in the world.
Then the big news...whereas LM could make one plane a month in the past, soon they'll be making one plane a DAY! If these planes are made in the metroplex, imagine the money that will be changing hands. Dallas/Grand Prairie/Arlington/Ft Worth are definitely industry towns. That makes me wonder...will the local media protect the Navy or reveal its refusal to remediate Dallas land and water?
At any rate, seeing this Lockheed Martin video online helped me KNOW the Navy can clean up their toxic sites including ground and surface water-if they want to. I daresay they could clean up their toxic sites ALL OVER THE WORLD! Why?
After seeing those planes, I believe in this organization's determination and ability to succeed-if desired.
But, I'm afraid the Navy is totally about survivability and success if it's them. If we're talking about us and our lake, we better be content with the lethal status quo.
