I was thinking about the Navy deciding NOT to clean up the groundwater at the Dallas NAS and NWIRP, and how hard it would be to clean up, and how the Navy has tried so many schemes that didn't work... AND THEN I had an epiphany of sorts.
These are the people who have our tax money and know how to do huge-complicated things like building planes with nuclear bombs (re: naval air professionals and the aircraft industry)! Yes,indeed.
They knew how to do every cutting edge thing that ruined the naval base and lake-years ago! Today they have the most sophisticated equipment, computers, tools, detectors, materials of all kind, and the best scientists on their government payroll. They also have scores of enlisted men and women for manpower and can probably order a foot of metal pipe for only fifty dollars. (So I hear...)
Seriously, Dallas, do you realize we've already paid to have our soil and lake remediated, it just hasn't happened yet?
All the supplies we need are probably in military or government warehouses right now, and the required engineers and hydrologists are nearby working on their research projects with DOD money. Heck, they could be flown in from anywhere and land right on Hensley Field runway.
Let's invite these government employees and their gear here to Dallas for Christmas. I have a little project in mind that could make our Big D world a better place.
Location: Dallas, Texas Topics: Dallas Naval Air Station, NWIRP, Mountain Creek Lake, oil and gas drilling, Oak Cliff industry and environment. WHY DOES OAK CLIFF HAVE TWICE THE BREAST CANCER RATE COMPARED TO THE REST OF TEXAS?
