WHERE DO TXU TRANSFORMERS GO TO DIE??

I was reading about Navy bases all over the US and the widespread destruction of land and water due to military activities from the 1940s through the Cold War and beyond. Appears it was common for the Navy to use their govt acres as landfill, a burial ground for old machinery, plane parts, waste, fuel, etc. (Transformers from TXU have been mentioned as a possible PCB culprit, too.) I can't help but wonder what could be embedded in the silty bottom of Mt Creek Lake...chemicals, yes; some say a crashed plane is in there! It's just impossible to know; but I think it's fair to say that when the Navy dumped chemicals into the lagoon/lake and buried fuel in the soil, damage was done that was and is terribly serious. Do we just grieve over that and move on-or do we work for a better outcome?
