TWO MORE YEARS TO ENACT DRILLING LAWS

It's true. According to WFAA.com and TX Sharon (see her Bluedaze Drilling website for the best, most complete info), it will be TWO MORE YEARS until laws protecting citizens and our air and water will be enforced. Thus, many insist a moratorium on drilling is necessary. Seems that would enable water/air/soil testing to be done and new drilling methods studied and implemented. To continue as things are now, means more poison-to an extent we don't presently fully comprehend.
If you are concerned about natural gas drilling risk, contact TCEQ (Texas Commission on Environmental Quality in Austin. Tx) and the Texas Railroad Commsission now. Though it sounds odd, the RR Commisssion has dominion over drilling. I'm sure you know how to Google the organization name, click on its website, and find the "contact" button on the website to e-mail. Well, we all have to learn the first time!)
Public pressure is the one thing that can halt damage to people and property.
We must think of rural folks with drilling rigs next door to their homes;* considering chemical leaks and spills, waste water dumping, and massive amounts of water-millions of gallons per well-injected and left underground. And we must remember that all water ultimately interacts. No matter where we live, we will not remain permanently untouched by pollution.
Texas has thousand of wells, more than any other state in the Union, and shockingly few regulators. I don't believe we have adequate personnel to study the dangers of our drilling situation!
So until we understand true present damage and future risk, we must protect our present and future citizens, our land, and resources. Better to be too careful than not.
After all, even the TCEQ physician/spokesperson agrees we are in danger. That's good enough for me, fellow Texans.

*As several weeks has passed, we have learned of families completely losing the value of their homes because wells were ruined and their property has no water. To connect to "city water" costs hundreds of thousand of dollars, according to residents. If damage from drilling cannot be proven, these folks have no recourse.
Where is the leak in the undersgound setup that ruined wells, and threatens the aquifer - how would a property owner know?
