If you live in Oak Cliff, you might note that the city of Dallas is spending 16.7 million to improve White Rock Lake. Not the water, but the paths, trails, overlook, and parking area. The improvements will be finished this coming spring.
Didn't I read that there was no money for bike trails and paths at Mountain Creek? Didn't a city commission recommend that such improvements be made to enhance the southern sector?
My concern, as you know, is the water at MCL-its safety. But, there's a principle here we can't ignore... No money for an Oak Cliff/West Dallas lake while taxes are used "up north" where people can bike and sail in beautiful old East Dallas.
You know, East Dallas is lovely, and West Dallas is rough around the edges, and money is tight. But, Oak Cliff, fair..is fair.
Location: Dallas, Texas Topics: Dallas Naval Air Station, NWIRP, Mountain Creek Lake, oil and gas drilling, Oak Cliff industry and environment. WHY DOES OAK CLIFF HAVE TWICE THE BREAST CANCER RATE COMPARED TO THE REST OF TEXAS?
