YOU'VE GOT MAIL!

Today I received info from an environmental professional who travels around the country helping citizens-especially military families-who have experienced illness because of chemical exposure. Quite a few have lost children due to TCE in drinking water. His message to those living near Mt Creek Lake or any contaminated aquifer: Watch for migration of TCE into the air and drinking water.* In reference to the Mt Creek Lake clean-up, he reminded that a large number of people speaking out and demanding quality results is critical to getting an improved clean-up.
I e-mailed our mayor and councilman today (from their city websites) with my concerns and hope for a reply. It's tough caring about any cause day after day. So, whenever I want to give up, I remember the numerous individuals and families fishing in the lake, and take the next step - whether it's private learning or civic action. So far, there's been someone on this path who will demonstrate what that step is... Pretty amazing.

-For more info on TCE, check out "The TCE Blog." Four environmental scientists/project directors from California to Washington, DC, responded to my inquiries. (Forgive me for thinking you guys were lawyers!)

* Of course, you (the public) have to know if your housing development lies on top of the aquifer. The city of Grand Prairie and Tx Public Health Dept have maps with adresses of buildings, residences atop the possblity dangerous, possibly vaporous Naval Weapons aquifer. Remember, no one should work in offices or warehouses above these aquifers unless testing is being done REGULARLY. My attempt to get testing results has not assured me that testing is done often.
