Truth, Freedom-the American Way?

Thinking about freedom today and wanting to celebrate it...
FREEDOM IS-all the wonderful ideals I embraced as a patriotic child learning about the documents that gave us in human society the rights God gave us upon our birth.
Freedom is...a free education and a chance to find and make my place in the world.
Freedom is....having a military to protect me from hostile enemies while I go about my business.
Very wonderful-yet we do not all have every freedom we need or feel we need.
We feel the pressing hand of government upon our livelihood in increasing taxes; and the crushing cost of immigration, and the imposition of Congress in personal health care matters. Freedom is...not what it used to be!

Today I am asking for real freedom of information about toxic sites in my community.
What's the problem? public environmental agencies seem to make it as difficult as possible to give me as little info as possible on military sites, an industrial site, chemicals in lakes and creeks...Charging for more pages than I could ever read, without providing a reasonable human to answer direct questions.*
These agencies control info that basically reveals whether or not they have adequately done their jobs. Have they cleaned up sites, forced owners to clean up? Have they collected fines for years when companies were out of compliance and polluting the people's environment? Have they given businesses a break by not requiring complete clean up, allowing taxpaying citizens to literally absorb the damage-quietly, secretly, without media coverage. You may say THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN! See for yourself. Try to find out what is in your neighborhood creek. Try to find out if the governmental agencies even know.
I challenge you to track the emissions and toxic releases from drilling sites in your area. It is likely a site does not even report, according to the statistics I've read about Texas. Even if they do report, are all the blanks on the report forms filled in? "UNKNOWN" is not ok on a toxic release form that we pay to have evaluated and acted upon!

Freedom...really, really involves truth-telling or nobody is free.
Speaking generally, persons who withhold the complete truth are a particularly sneaky kind of dictator with a citizenry of captives. Happy birthday, America and Americans!
