A Spew of Hell From the Barnett Shale

Are you reading about radioactive water found in four places near the metroplex as natural gas drilling into the Barnett Shale progresses? We do not know for sure what is causing this.
Hasn't natural gas drilling been going on for years without such occurrences?
What is the new component? Different methods, chemicals - lethal chemicals?, depth and direction? the shale itself?
Friends and fellow citizens, this is scary. In my opinion, drilling needs to be halted until investigation produces answers. Stay attuned to WFAA.com,"Propublica" in NY for national environmental news, and especially the Ft Worth Star Telegram and TXsharon's Bluedaze blog for a local perspective on drilling.
Ft. Worth folks are realizing they have problems beyond water. Benzene is in their air. It's leukemia-producing and at 5 times the allowable rate! And isn't benzene a fracking chemical?

(Note: I understand that a news entity could have a water sample analyzed to determine the kind of radioactive particles - alpha, beta - perhaps a mixture; and that info could point to the source of radioactivity. Surely TCEQ and EPA are testing, also; but, alas, TCEQ is short-staffed. A recent request to the Tx Dept of Health provided no info, and TCEQ/Tx RR Comm web-sites seem to say "No problem." It may be time for the people of North Texas to become empowered and time for journalists to realize their destiny as public servants! Since when does the government need to control everything we know? And to get really radical, we could test-not only our wells and drilling waste water- but our air while we're at it!)

Banding together, there's no good thing we the people can't do.

Thinking closer to home my home, Dallas....plans call for for a happy new year of drilling at the Dallas Naval Air Station-on property owned by the city of Dallas? by Exxon the new owner of TXO? I hope the city of Dallas will keep us out of hot/radioactive water with our "reservoir H2O," delay any planned drilling until safety issues are sorted out - learning from affected communities.
Seems like just when you think nature is on your side, and the easy money is about to roll in from that drilling lease - here it comes! RADIOACTIVITY AND BENZENE, of all things! It's the story of my life.
