Go, PUBLIC CITIZEN! Fight and WIN!

Did you read the DMN story today about "Public Citizen" suing the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for failure to limit CO2 emissions? What a bold move by a citizens group. Everyone knows Texas has protected polluters since the Alamo, but we tolerate this for jobs, tax revenue, lower cost for utilites and goods, etc.
In other words, many like the financial benefits of lax environmental standards-the toxic industries most of all.
Watch this trial if it goes to court, and I believe it will. TCEQ is probably sitting pretty with powerful lawyers and important friends like Rick Perry; but, the citizens are right. The law is the law. Will a Travis county judge force the mighty state of Texas to face facts?
I can envision this matter argued in the Supreme Court one day, as the fight is really about federal law and the state's perceived "right" to do as it pleases-and it could ultimately (even presently) be about billions of dollars for clean up!
We all love Texas - so vast and beautiful, rich and productive.
Texas is just sacred enough to be kept clean and safe for her diverse, hard-working people.
And who was supposed to protect us, fellow citizens? Oh yes - TCEQ!
